Fall Leaves pick up begins in Conyngham. The Conyngham Borough Department of Public Works has started picking up leaves. Residents are asked to pile the leaves on the edge of their property, keeping them off the sidewalk and the road surfaces. Residents are also reminded that the pickup is for leaves only. Yard waste, grass clippings, tree branches, etc. will not be taken. These requirements are necessary to help insure the safety of our neighbors and the Borough Employees. Any piles that do not follow the guidelines will not be picked up.
Conyngham Borough will be providing free pick up of used tires for Borough residents. Eligible tires for collection will include regular size automobile, motorcycle, pick-up truck and SUV and must be removed from rims, free of liquids and heavy mud and cannot be cut. This recycling program sponsored through the Luzerne County Solid Waste Management Department and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection will be held on October 3rd at the Butler Township Road Department.
In order to have acceptable tires picked up please contact the Borough Office at (570)788-4385 no later than September 24, 2015 and leave your name, telephone number and number of tires to be picked up. The Department of Public Works employees will pick up tires October 1st and 2nd. Tires that do not meet the eligibility requirements will not be picked up. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
