Hiring Park Program Assistant Director

Conyngham Borough is accepting applications for an assistant director and staff members for the 2016 Conyngham park summer program.

The program will be held June 20th to July 29th, Monday to Friday from 9 am to noon.

 All applicants must be at least 15 years old. Applications can be picked up at the Conyngham Borough Building during office hours.

Applicants interested in the assistant director position must submit applications by April 8th and all other applications are due April 15th.

Free Used Tire Pick Up

Conyngham Borough will be providing free pick up of used tires for Borough residents. Eligible tires for collection will include regular size automobile, motorcycle, pick-up truck and SUV and must be removed from rims, free of liquids and heavy mud and cannot be cut. This recycling program sponsored through the Luzerne County Solid Waste Management Department and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection will be held on October 3rd at the Butler Township Road Department.

In order to have acceptable tires picked up please contact the Borough Office at (570)788-4385 no later than September 24, 2015 and leave your name, telephone number and number of tires to be picked up. The Department of Public Works employees will pick up tires October 1st and 2nd. Tires that do not meet the eligibility requirements will not be picked up. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Tax Collector Date Changes

Conyngham Borough Tax Collector, Madelyn Lawson, will be collecting tax payments at the Conyngham Borough Building, 215 Main St. Conyngham on Sept 15th, Sept 16th, and Sept 17th from 9 AM to 12 Noon and NOT on Sept 18th as printed on the tax bill.

 

Rain Barrel Workshop

Conyngham Borough is holding a workshop entitled “Using Rainwater to Beautify Your Property While Protecting Your Neighbors” on Saturday May 9th at 10:00 AM at the Borough Building, 215 Main St. The workshop is open to the public and the admission is free. Topics to be discussed include the importance of controlling rain water, where does my rainwater go, how to make, install, and maintain a rain barrel. Please RSVP by calling the Borough Office at 570-788-4385.

 

Park Program Registration

Conyngham Park Program Registration for children ages 5 to 12 will be held Tuesday, May 5th and Wednesday, May 20th from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Conyngham Borough Building. The program will be held from June 22nd to July 31st. It is a Monday through Friday program that runs from 9AM to 12 PM. Children must be at least 5 years of age by June 1st(birth certificates required). Payment of $120.00 per child is required at the time of registration. Registration forms can also be picked up at the Conyngham Borough Building during office hours. The deadline for registration is Wednesday May 20th.

Pet Owners Responsibility

Pet Owners Responsibility Reminder

With the approach of warmer weather, we are all looking forward to spending more time outdoors enjoying the warmer weather. Conyngham Residents are reminded that they are responsible for clean-up after their pets while walking them on public property.  Un-restrained pets running at large on public or private property without the consent of the property owner is also prohibited by borough ordinance. Cooperation of pet owners will help keep our community both safe and clean.
